Official Gmail Blog: New in Labs: Offline Gmail
Here's the posting on the Google Blog. I still have not seen it on my account.
Wonder how many days it will take to show up.
"""
We're making offline Gmail available to everyone who uses Gmail in US or UK English over the next couple of days, so if you don't see it under the Labs tab yet, it should be there soon. Once you see it, just follow these steps to get started:
1. Click Settings and click the Labs tab.
2. Select Enable next to Offline Gmail.
3. Click Save Changes.
4. After your browser reloads, you'll see a new "Offline0.1" link in the upper righthand corner of your account, next to your username. Click this link to start the offline set up process and download Gears if you don't already have it.

NAMM 2009 - Shay Lynn - Maria Riley
The show is packed with over 1500 exhibitor booths. Approx 90,000 are expected to attend.
There's a rumor that the NAMM 2010 show may move to the Los Angeles Convention Center. That would be great news for the City of Los Angeles. I would prefer to see it held in Los Angeles. The LA Convention Center is larger and has been expanded to accomodate large conventions like NAMM.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/victorcab/sets/72157612663947014/
At the show you will see all the music equipment and related components, basically anything that has to do with music you can find it at NAMM.
The people watching and photo opportunities are great.
Here's DBZ Guitars/Diamond who had some models at their booth taking pictures with those in attendance. That's me in the center.
Pictured: Mary Riley - Victor Caballero - Shay Lyn

Here's a picture of the stage where bands perform during the convention.
The LA Times has a great interview with the head of NAMM, Joe Lamond.
http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-namm15-2009jan15,0,6382285,full.story
The story mentions NAMM did a survey and showed that 82% of people who don't play an instrument wish they did. Wow that's a huge market that Guitar Hero and RockBand have targetted.

Pasadena Marathon Cancelled
Event Organizers Cancel Race Due To Poor Air Quality |
| We regret to inform you that we have been compelled to cancel today's Kaiser Permanente Pasadena Marathon as a result of the significant wildfires in the Los Angeles area and resulting unsafe air quality. Pasadena Forward's decision was made in consultation with the Kaiser Permanente Medical Team and the City of Pasadena. Please know that it was extremely difficult to arrive at this decision, and we know that this is a disappointing outcome for all of us who have worked so hard for this inaugural event. However, the only appropriate response to this emergent situation, given that the safety and well-being of our participants is at the forefront of our concerns, was to cancel. Over the next several days, we will hold discussions to determine appropriate next steps. Once concrete plans have been developed, updates will be posted at www.pasadenamarathon.org. All registered participants will also be notified via email of all important updates. Thank you for your support and patience as we work through this challenge. We hope you are safe and well.
