dashexpress

Just received my dashexpress. First thing to do is all the updates. There are many updates. firmware, software, traffic, etc... I've done about 3 of them so far.

The unit is a little heavier than I anticipated and the shape is somewhat awkward. But it seems like a device that I could easy grow to getting used to and becoming addicted.

One of the first thing I noticed is that Interstate 5 is mismarked in the Glendale, Burbank, CA area as Interstate 10. something that I am sure will be fixed.

More to follow.

I can see this device filling in a need until mobile phones develop the same functionality.

mediaguide on dash

Mediaguide has included its radio data on the new Dash Navigation devices (www.dash.net). You can read the press release (http://www.pr-inside.com/dash-navigation-opens-its-platform-to-r588024.htm), which has gone out today in conjunction with the location-based conference Where 2.0. It has been picked up by several media outlets already, including Reuters, Washington Post, Crunchgear, Venturebeat, The Standard and down the line with more to come over the next few days.

This is a great step for Mediaguide as we seek to employ our core radio data in new ways to connect radio to various digital and mobile applications and devices for music discovery, location-based advertising and various local content and search services.

Included with the release, I put a quick video sketch together showing Steve Lubin, our CEO, walk through the application. As we add new features to the application and Dash adds new functionality to the device, we will update the video.

Please check out the quick demonstration – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVzm9bA6Hnw

If you have any questions or would like additional information on this application or others that we have in place or in development as we use our terrestrial real-time radio monitoring network to drive new digital and mobile services, please contact me. I look forward to it.
