Electrics cars at the Detriot Show

There are clear signs that the future of the automotive industry will be focusing on plug-n-go.

Fisker automotive is showing a car that will be available next year for about $80,000. Former Vice President Al Gore has already placed a pre-order.

This car is very sporty looking and can go zero->60 in seconds.

Congrats to Henrik Fisker and his group to putting together a product that is sure to disrupt the old-school thinking.

People need to realize that we need to invest in the future. There needs to be tax incentives so that everyone buying cars has an opportunity to buy electric cars.

I am seriously thinking that my next car will be electric/hybrid. Hydrogen is not ready, the infastructure us not even close, could be at least 5 years before we see if this is going to work.

Biodiesel is another area that has potential. More on that later.

Ideally I can image a car that has the ability to capture light(PV- Solar) and convert to a charge of on board batteries, batteries that are lighter, because that is the big challenge too. How much the batteries weigh. We need to reduce the weight of batteries in half! This is a big opportunity area just like solar.
