Ditch your car and ride a bike

Join this fun noisy ride around Pasadena and enjoy a free picnic at the end of the ride. BYO drinks. Celebrate the fun and utility of the bicycle. This ride will start as the Vromans Earth Day activities conclude.

What kind of bike do I need?
Any kind - mountain bike, road bike, cruiser, beater bike - just make sure it's working

Can I bring kids on the ride?
Yes. We always have kids on the ride. They should be able to ride predictably in a straight line or should ride in a trailer or trail-a-bike. Helmets are required by law for anyone under 18 years of age.

How long will the ride be?
Usually it's 5-10 miles at a leisurely pace.

Come Early to join in the other activites - Or just show up by 4:00 PM for the ride.




11:15 - 11:45 am: Ten Thousand Villages will do a presentation on Fair Trade 101, the relationship between environmentalism & social justice, and the ties between our use of resources and the impact it has on other countries.

12 - 12:30 pm: Presentation from Deborah Tull, a sustainability coach certified in Permaculture Design, Bio-Intensive Organic Gardening, and Compost Education who has traveled the world studying sustainable communities.

12:45 - 1:30 pm: Live music TBA.

2 - 2:50 pm: Author/naturalist, Christopher Nyerges, will do a talk on the uses of wild plants and various ways to survive in the wilderness. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

3 - 3:45 pm: Eco-friendly fashion show co-hosted by All Shades of Green: Silverlake Store & Design Center

4:00 PM - Pasadena Critical Mass will host a bike ride around town that leaves from the Vroman's lot. Enjoy the festivities, then ride!!
