Things to do this weekend Part 1

There's the Downey Farmer's Market which is relatively new. Which I have heard is really good. Worth checking it out. Here's the info.

ABOUT US
The Downtown Downey Farmers' Market was approved by the Downey City Council on February 12, 2008.

The market is intended to be a community gathering place, an opportunity to purchase California-grown products, and a means to support the Downtown Downey area.

California Certified Farmers Markets operates the Downtown Downey Farmers' Market. They are a California non-profit organization. Prospective farmers and vendors should contact CCFM directly for information on market space.

PARKING INFORMATION
Public parking is available:
  • On Downey Ave., New Ave., and La Reina Ave.
  • In the municipal structure on the north-west corner of Second St. and La Reina Ave.
  • In the municipal parking lot on the south-west corner of Second St. and La Reina Ave.


  • WHAT IS A CERTIFIED MARKET?
    A Certified Market is defined in the California Code of Regulations. It requires farmers and vendors to be inspected by the California Department of Food and Agriculture. These markets do not permit brokers or re-sellers.
