COLUMBIA RIVER COFFEE ROASTER
COFFEE THAT FLOATS THE ARTS

Columbia River CoffeeI think if I were a woman I'd wear coffee as a perfume. - John van Druten Roaster is an independently owned company located on the shores of Young's Bay in Astoria, Oregon, established in 1992. Specializing in custom blends and roasts for our customers, our business is mainly wholesale, though we do a healthy bit of mail order. We offer equipment and service to our wholesale accounts, and delivery of classically hand-roasted coffees, roasted to order.

The coffee is prepared in such a way that it makes those who drink it witty. - Charles de Secondat MontesquieuWe use two antique, American-made roasters: a Royal No. 5, and a Royal No. 7: a 25-lb and a 75-lb roaster, respectively. We carefully roast all coffees in these gas-fired roasters, then stir the beans by hand to cool them prior to blending and packaging. We add flavoring to no coffee, with the exception of one: Frodo's Cup, a holiday blend that is enhanced with natural spices and chocolate. Most of our blends are named after local landmarks to keep us mindful of the richness of our area.Click to go to the river theater.

We also believe strongly in the notion that one's work should build one's community, so we put a high percentage of our profits into the local arts scene, specifically The River Theater in Astoria, a vibrant venue for diverse performing arts.

I appreciate your time and your interest. You can use the order pages on this site, call us at (503) 325-2755 or (800) 239-9809, or email us and let us know what you would like!

Sincerely,

Tim Hurd
Owner/Roaster/Janitor

P.S. If you would like to see a Columbia River Coffee outlet in your area, please recommend our coffee to your favorite retailer or restaurant. We'd be happy to be in your neighborhood.
