SOUTH PASADENA, Calif. -- The northbound 110 Freeway has been shut down for hours in South Pasadena because of sinkhole that opened up in two of its three lanes.
The California Department of Transportation says the problem began at 6 p.m. Wednesday with the report of a large pothole near the center divider north of Fair Oaks Avenue. But the hole spread across the left and center northbound lanes, and a full closure was ordered at 1:40 a.m. Thursday.
Crews continue to work filling in the hole. It is unclear when northbound lanes will reopen.
