Foreclosure-prevention fair at L.B. Convention Center


Homeowners can get tools and important information on how to prevent foreclosure at a free and comprehensive homeowners preservation fair Saturday.

The fair in the Long Beach Convention Center Grand Ballroom will run from 10a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.

The event is jointly sponsored by the City of Carson, the City of Long Beach, the Long Beach Housing Development Company (LBHDC), the Office of L.A. County Supervisor Don Knabe, the Los Angeles Neighborhood Housing Services (LANHS), the City of Hawthorne, L.A. County NeighborWorks Center for Foreclosure Solutions, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Participants must bring a copy of a recent mortgage statement.

Counselors and housing experts will offer on-site assistance and information on viable options regarding foreclosure-prevention assistance. All information will be kept confidential.

Spanish and Khmer translation will be available, and free parking is available off Pine Avenue at the Convention Center.
